A California king size bed has been converted to a elvan stone hydronic heating bed. It was heated by a hydronic heating mat that requires a electric transformer for 110 volt. To cover California king size, 16 elven stone panels are needed. Each panel is 50 cm * 50 cm. PE-RT pipe, made in Korea and 16 mm outer diameter, is used. 110 volt 1.5kw electric boiler/circulator is used to supply hot water.
A wooden panel is structed for hanging the electric boiler. The dimension of wooden panel is approximately 11 * 24 inches.
After putting 16 heating panels, Insulation form is applied along the edges of heating panels.
To create a heat island, insulation sheet is wrapped on the heating panels. It is very important to creating of insulating barrier along the panels.
Install the electric boiler. and apply insulation tape along the panel gaps.
The thermal image shows that the highest temperature is 61 Celsius after heating for one hour. Noise is 37 dB, which is very quite, while the electric boiler running. The bed surface is sizzling as about 60 Celsius. The elvan stone heating panels holds the heating for a long time, from 60 Celsius to 30 Celsius for 8 hours after shutting down the electric boiler.
